Discovering Türkiye differently

An independent, bilingual discovery guide built around photography and geography.

Discovering Türkiye differently

TürkiyeCennet is a bilingual discovery guide to Türkiye’s natural and historic places, built around photography and geography. The aim is not to produce another list of destinations, but to say clearly on one page why a place is worth seeing, when to go, and how to get there.

Well-known destinations and places people drive past without noticing both belong here.

What makes it different

The site is built from scratch. No off-the-shelf theme, no travel template, and no content carried over from another publication.

Every place is chosen individually. Nothing is added to inflate the page count: a place is published only once it has verified information and an image we are allowed to use.

Editorial approach

Articles avoid unnecessary length, but retain the historical, geographical and practical context needed to understand a place and plan a visit. Every place follows the same information structure: a brief introduction, the story, the best time to visit, how to get there, coordinates, and what is nearby.

We avoid inflated adjectives and claims that cannot be checked. If something is uncertain, it is left out.

Images and sources

Photographs come from Wikimedia Commons, and only under licences that permit commercial use and derivative works (CC0, public domain, CC BY, CC BY-SA).

The photographer, licence and source page are recorded for every image and stay visible on the page. Images are never hotlinked: they are downloaded into the project and served from our own build.

An independent discovery project

TürkiyeCennet is independent. There is no sponsored content, paid placement or advertising.

The Turkish and English versions share one content model. Both are primary; neither is treated as a translation bolted onto the other.
